Jeremiah’s Seething Pot

Jeremiah 1:13-16

“And the word of the LORD came unto me  the second time, saying, What do you see?  And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.” Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah, And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

According to Journalist Josephus’ “Wars of the Jews” Book 6 and Zechariah chapters 12-14, this prophecy was fulfilled in year 70 AD with the Siege of Jerusalem; Prophet David in Psalm 74 saying, O God, why have you cast us off for ever? why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?  Remember thy congregation, which You have purchased of old; the rod of your inheritance, which You have redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein You have dwelt. Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy has done wickedly in the sanctuary. Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers. They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. They said in their hearts, “Let us destroy them together.” They  have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
